REPORTS: Kenyan International Defender Set to Join Saudi Arabian Second-Tier Club
Harambee Stars defender Johnstone Omurwa is reportedly close to finalising a move to Saudi Arabian second-tier side Abha Club.
The former Wazito and Mathare United player has been without a club since July, following the expiration of his contract with Portuguese outfit Estrela de Amadora.
While potential moves to top Tanzanian, Israeli and Cypriot clubs fell through due to his high wage demands, Abha appears to have agreed to personal terms with the highly-regarded defender.

Omurwa, who missed Kenya’s recent AFCON 2025 Qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Namibia while negotiating the transfer, is already training with the club, according to reliable sources. The official announcement is expected soon, along with the signing of an unnamed Nigerian midfielder.
Abha was relegated from the top tier last season under the management of former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane. The club is now focused on securing promotion back to the Saudi Pro League.
