Spitfire FC Aim for National Super League Promotion in Upcoming Season
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Division One side Spitfire FC has set its sights on securing a spot in the National Super League this season, which kicks off on September 28th, 2024.
The army side made its debut last season, finishing fifth with 48 points. This performance has bolstered Coach Daniel Shikoli Lutatwa’s belief and optimism about securing a promotion spot by the end of the 2024/25 season.
Based in Sina Makosa, Spitfire FC will begin their campaign at home against Young Bulls FC before traveling to Gems Cambridge to face Kibra United. The team aims to take all points from these matches, having demonstrated their potential as league contenders last year.
Speaking to Passion Sports, Shikoli emphasized the club’s readiness and objectives for the season.
“One of my main objectives is to guide the team to the National Super League, and the team is ready for the task,” Shikoli said.
“It is essential to start a new season with a win, and a victory against Young Bulls will give us the right boost in our promotion quest to the FKF second tier. Last season, we started the campaign well, but we dropped crucial points mid-season, which impacted our standings. However, it was our first season in the third tier,” he added.
