Richard Ngichabe Binga Elected New Chairperson of Kenya Karate Federation
Engineer Richard Ngichabe Binga has been elected as the new chairperson of the Kenya Karate Federation (KKF) during elections held yesterday at the Nyayo National Stadium. His election marks a significant step for the federation, which has been operating under a caretaker committee since 2023 due to previous compliance issues with the Sports Act.
Binga, who is also the chairman of the Kenyatta National Hospital karate club, expressed his commitment to prioritising transparency and sustainable talent development within the federation. “I am dedicated to ensuring that our operations are transparent and that we nurture the talents of our karatekas for the future,” Binga stated after his election.

The election was overseen by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), following a long period of controversy that had seen the federation in contempt of court for failing to conduct timely elections.

- 1st Vice Chairperson: Henry Nabea Nkoru
- 2nd Vice Chairperson: Ben Oulo
- Secretary General: James Mwangi Gikonyo
- Assistant Secretary General: Faith Syombua Nzangi
- Treasurer: Moses Muthanga
- Assistant Treasurer: Jediel Mutua
- Gender Representative: Lucy Karobia
- Representative of Persons with Special Needs: Peter Ombima
- Technical Director: Bakari Yusuf
- Assistant Technical Director: Stephen Wesonga
- Committee Members: Fredrick Kenyatta, Eston Kinyua, Zima Beatrice, Christopher Ouma.
