Paris Olympics: Malkia Strikers eye first win over Poland
The Kenya women’s volleyball team, Malkia Strikers will take on fourth-ranked Poland on Wednesday evening in their second pool B match at the Paris 2024 Olympics in the South Paris Arena from 10PM EAT
The African champions, who are ranked 20th globally are yet to secure a single set in the Olympics history.
The fourth-placed European side came from behind to see off Japan 3-1 (20-25, 25-22, 25-23, 28-26) in their opening clash on Sunday as Malkia Strikers fell 3-0 ( 25-14, 25-13, 25-12) to Brazil on Monday.
On Monday, Head Coach Jopheth Munala said that the opening match is always tough and he still believes the team has what it takes to edge Poland.
“On next opponent, Poland, are a strong team and having played Brazil, that serves as an eye-opener because most of the players realized we can do better,” Munala said.
