No chance for Mandela to join SuperSport United, CEO confirms
Kenyan international Brian Onyango Mandela won’t be joining PSL side SuperSport United despite training with the club for a couple of days, it has been confirmed.
The Harambee Stars defender has been training with the club after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns and was expected to put pen to paper.
However, SuperSport United CEO Stan Matthews confirmed the club won’t be signing Mandela and S’Fiso Hlanti who was also training with the club.
“There have been opportunities to sign Hlanti and Onyango who are very good players but I can’t bring in 30-year olds into the club. I am going to bring 24-28 year olds, players who have great resell value and who can stay with the club if need be and still be at their prime.” The CEO is quoted as saying by Kick Off.
