Hussein Mohammed Launches FKF Presidential Bid, Promises Major Reforms
Hussein Mohammed, the founder of the Super 8 League, has officially declared his candidacy for the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) presidency. The announcement was made during a launch event in Nairobi, where he outlined his plans to reform Kenyan football.
In his speech, Mohammed emphasized the need for significant changes within the sport, highlighting the importance of developing infrastructure, enhancing player welfare, and addressing corruption.
“Infrastructure is the cornerstone of a thriving sports industry,” Mohammed said. He committed to upgrading current facilities and constructing new ones to provide Kenyan players with high-quality training environments. Mohammed also stressed the need for grassroots development to nurture young talent across the country.
Player welfare featured prominently in Mohammed’s agenda. He expressed concern over the challenges faced by local footballers, particularly those in domestic leagues. Mohammed promised to improve working conditions for players, including ensuring timely payments and providing better medical support.

Corruption within the sport was another key issue addressed by Mohammed.
