AFC Leopards defeated newly promoted Mathare United 4-0 in the 2024-25 FKF Premier League opener at Dandora Stadium on Sunday.
In Awendo, Migori County, newly promoted Mara Sugar made a bold statement by beating Kakamega Homeboyz FC 2-0. This fixture marked the first top-flight game hosted at Awendo Green Stadium in 13 years, previously the home ground of the now-defunct Sony Sugar FC.
Murang’a Seal secured a 1-0 victory against Ulinzi Stars at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
AFC Leopards showcased a stellar performance, with goals from Rwandan import Arthur Gitego, Bonface Munyendo, veteran Victor Omune, and new signing Sydney Lokale. Joe Waithira scored Murang’a Seal’s only goal, starting their season on a positive note with a 1-0 win over Ulinzi Stars.
