CAF Interclubs: Gor Mahia run riot in Nairobi as Kenya Police FC dazzle in Addis
Kenya’s representatives in the CAF Interclubs Gor Mahia and Kenya Police FC recorded positive results as they both progressed in CAF Champions and Confederation Cups.
Gor Mahia annihilated visiting South Sudanese side El Merriekh Bentiu 5-1 at the Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi, while Police FC edged out Ethiopian Bunna 1-0 in Addis Ababa.

Smirting from a painful 1-0 loss in the first leg in Juba last week, Gor Mahia had their work cut out, an assignment they perfectly understood.
Yet, eleven minutes into the encounter, they fell behind through Samuel Akinbinu who drilled home a loose ball from a lackluster defending.
Rattled, K’Ogalo sprung to life almost immediately, leveling through Christopher Ochieng in the 22nd minute before defender Alphonse Omija completed the turn around in the 35th with the third goal.
The second half was no different for K’Ogalo. Despite coach Leo Neiva ringing changes, they kept pressing for more goals.
Rooney Onyango, a left back, deployed as a winger added the fourth in the 80th minute before grabbing his brace in the added minutes of the last stanza.
The record Kenyan champions proceed to the next round where record African champions Al Ahly SC of Egypt lie in wait.
Meanwhile, in Addis Ababa, Kenya Police FC scored through South Sudan defender Toha Rashid in the first half to seal the progression for the Law Enforcers.

The first leg played in Nairobi last week ended in a barren draw. The slim win was enough to earn them another life in the second tier continental competition.
Like Gor Mahia, Police FC will be up against Egyptian opposition in the next round where they will face defending champions Zamalek SC.
