Engineer Richard Ngichabe Binga has been elected as the new chairperson of the Kenya Karate Federation (KKF) during elections held yesterday at the Nyayo National Stadium. His election marks a significant step for the federation, which has been operating under a caretaker committee since 2023 due to previous compliance issues with the Sports Act.

Binga, who is also the chairman of the Kenyatta National Hospital karate club, expressed his commitment to prioritising transparency and sustainable talent development within the federation. “I am dedicated to ensuring that our operations are transparent and that we nurture the talents of our karatekas for the future,” Binga stated after his election.
