Kenya Police FC will kick off their CAF Confederation Cup campaign on Sunday, August 18, 2024. They will face Ethiopian Coffee Stars at the Nyayo National Stadium, with the match starting at 3 PM EAT.

Head Coach Salim Babu is confident and ready for the game. Speaking to the media on Saturday during the team’s final training session, Babu stated, “We have prepared well, and the players are ready. The only concern is an injury to one player, but overall, there is no pressure. It’s our first international competition.”

Babu added that many players have previous experience on big stages from their former clubs, which will be beneficial. “We aim to be aggressive and score as many goals as possible at home,” he said.

Recently, the team received a boost with Antony “Modo” Kimani joining as a new Assistant Coach. The team has also strengthened their squad during the transfer window, signing nine new players. This includes two foreigners: Senegalese midfielder El Hadji Abdou Kari and Alfred Leku from Kiyovu Sports in Rwanda. They also signed wingers Eric Zakayo and Daniel Sakari from Tusker FC, and other players from AFC Leopards and local clubs.

If Kenya Police FC advances, they will face the reigning Confederation Cup champions, Egyptian giants Zamalek, in the next round.
