Jackline Juma Ready to Lead FC Talanta: “Coaching Men Is Not Unusual for Me”
Jackline Juma, recently appointed as the head coach of FC Talanta, has expressed her excitement about the new role, emphasising that coaching men is not a new experience for her.
“I am thrilled to take on this challenge with FC Talanta. Coaching men is not unusual for me, and I’m looking forward to working with the team to achieve our goals this season,” Juma said.
Juma, who made history as the first female coach in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF PL), brings with her years of experience from her time as head coach of the Kenya U15 girls’ team and Gor Mahia Queens. Her appointment comes as all FKF Premier League clubs are now required to have a CAF A licensed coach starting from the 2024/25 season.
Juma’s journey in coaching began in 2016, and she has since worked her way up, earning her CAF A license after eight transformative years. Her appointment at Talanta follows the club’s decision to comply with the new licensing requirements, which have seen several teams reshuffle their technical benches.
