Kenya Police FC have been eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup after a 2-1 defeat to Zamalek SC at Cairo International Stadium on Friday night.

The Law Enforcers entered the match following a 1-0 first-leg loss in Nairobi last weekend, facing the daunting task of overturning the deficit on foreign soil.

In what was Kenya Police FC’s first foray into continental football, they faced a tough challenge against Zamalek SC, the defending Confederation Cup champions.

After a goalless first half in which the hosts dominated, Zamalek’s Ahmed Mostafa, known as Zizo, broke the deadlock in the 55th minute with a clinical finish from the left following a swift counter-attack.

Just five minutes later, Naser Abd capitalised on a poor back pass from Musa Mohammed to goalkeeper Patrick Matasi, slotting home Zamalek’s second goal.

Though Jesse Were scored his first goal in Kenya Police FC colours in the 75th minute, it was not enough to inspire a comeback, as Zamalek controlled the game to secure a 3-1 aggregate victory.
