Stanley Wilson will be officially unveiled at AIK Fotboll on Thursday, not Wednesday as previously reported.

The Harambee Stars wonder kid successfully tried out with the Swedish top league side, AIK Fotboll, earlier this year and is set to sign a long-term contract with the Stockholm-based outfit.

According to FotbollSthlm’s Tuesday report, the former Gor Mahia Youth, Darajani Gogo, and Kariobangi Sharks player was set to finalize paperwork on Wednesday when he turns 18, but those plans have since changed.

“I have no comments regarding Stanley Wilson until we communicate something – and that is on Thursday,” AIK’s Sporting Director Thomas Bernsten told FotbollSthlm in their latest report.

Stanley, who was spotted during the 2023 CECAFA U18 Championships hosted by Kenya, confirmed that he will sign a professional contract with AIK. “I will sign a professional contract,” he said.

This development means that the player’s much-anticipated debut in the Swedish Cup second-round match at Kubikenborg on Wednesday will not take place.

Alongside Liberian left-back Emmanuel Gono, Stanley attended trials during AIK’s preseason in Marbella, Spain, impressing the club’s hierarchy. While Gono signed in February, Stanley had to wait until he reached the legal age to sign a professional contract.

The player is already dreaming of success with his soon-to-be new home. “I want to be in the team when we win the Allsvenskan. Join and play the cup in the preseason. I just want to win something with AIK.”

Stanley made headlines in September 2023 when Harambee Stars head coach Engin Firat made the bold decision to include him in the national team despite him having only played two games in the top-tier Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League.

After signing for Kariobangi Sharks in August from National Super League side Darajani Gogo, the midfielder was named as a substitute in the international friendly against South Sudan.
