Former Nairobi United forward Isaac Omweri scored a goal and provided an assist as Swedish third-tier side Vasalunds IF thrashed Kungsängen 4-0 in a friendly match on Sunday evening.

The youngster is currently in Sweden for trials and is training with Vasalunds IF. AIK U19, Brommapojkarna, and FC Utrecht in the Netherlands are also monitoring his progress.

Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) right-back Jefta Ochieng, who is also in Sweden for trials, played the full 90 minutes for Vasalunds IF.

“They both did really well in the friendly. Omweri was outstanding, and many clubs are now interested in scouting him further. He is a very talented player, and if he keeps working hard and remains disciplined, he will likely join a big team in Europe soon,” said Ahmed Issa, the player’s representative, to Passion Sports.
