It wasn’t an easy decision leaving Tusker: Shaphan Siwa
Tusker FC forward Shaphan Siwa says it was not an easy decision leaving the club to join Tanzania’s Kagera Sugar. Siwa moved back to Tanzania, four years after he left Biashara United, after the expiry of his contract with the Brewers.
The former Chemelil Sugar and Kariobangi Sharks midfielder was the league’s top assister, with nine in 14 matches so far this season. Siwa also had one goal to his name, a banger against Mara Sugar at the Dandora Stadium.
In an interview with Telecomasia.net, Siwa says he moved to seek a new challenge.
“Tusker has been like family to me, and it was not easy to leave. But I believe it’s time to push myself further and embrace a new challenge,” Siwa said.
He added; “I’ve enjoyed tremendous success there, and now I’m eager to test myself at a new club, with the aim of replicating that success and even surpassing it.”
Siwa’s departure will be a huge blow for Tusker, especially at a time when the team was picking up and is currently joint top of the FKF Premier League standings.
Coach Charles Okere says his departure will be a blow, but an opportunity for other players to rise to the occasion and prove their worth.
