AFCON2025Q: Cameroon Scrambles for New Kits Ahead of Kenya Clash

Cameroon are yet to secure a new kit deal ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying double-header against Kenya on October 11 and 14, 2024.

The Indomitable Lions had been outfitted by little-known American sportswear brand One All Sports since 2022, but the partnership ended in August due to a breach of contract. Prior to that, Cameroon were kitted by French company Le Coq Sportif. FECAFOOT President Samuel Eto’o had hailed the One All Sports deal as the most lucrative in the team’s history, despite the brand having no experience in football, being better known for motorsport equipment.

In addition to providing kits for Cameroon’s national teams, One All Sports was also contracted to supply a team bus, which never materialized.

With no deal in place, FECAFOOT has extended the bidding process for a new technical partner until October 15, meaning the Lions will need to find alternative kits for their matches against Kenya. They had previously announced that the team would wear One All Sports apparel for the last time in September.

Meanwhile, the first group of six players began training on Monday, with more Europe-based players expected to arrive soon to complete the 24-man squad selected by coach Marc Brys. During the session, the players wore kits resembling One All Sports designs, but without the company’s logo.

The atmosphere in the camp appears calm, with officials from FECAFOOT and the Ministry of Sports working in harmony— a stark contrast to the tensions seen earlier this year. Back then, the Lions narrowly defeated Namibia 1-0 before settling for a goalless draw against Zimbabwe in Kampala amidst internal conflicts.
