Ademola Lookman of Nigeria, Barbra Banda of Zambia, and South Africa’s Ronwen Williams emerged as top winners at the 2024 CAF Awards held in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday. The event celebrated Africa’s best football talents for the year.

Lookman’s Stellar Year
Lookman was crowned CAF Men’s Player of the Year after an impressive season with Atalanta and the Nigerian national team. He follows Victor Osimhen, who won the award in 2023. This marks the first back-to-back Nigerian winners since the 1990s.

Banda Makes History
Barbra Banda claimed the Women’s Player of the Year award after leading Orlando Pride to the NWSL Shield and Championship in the United States. She also set an Olympic record with her third career hat-trick at the Paris 2024 Games and became the first African player in the FIFPRO Women’s World 11.

Williams’ Double Honour
Ronwen Williams secured two awards: Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year and Men’s Interclub Player of the Year. His penalty saves during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and solid performances for Mamelodi Sundowns were key highlights.
