FKF Cup draw to be staged Feb 17 as 12 FKF-PL teams confirm participation

The draw for this year’s MozzartBet Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup will be held on February 17, as 12 FKF Premier League clubs have confirmed participation in the race for the ticket to represent the country at next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.

The 12-team KPL roster will be led by defending champions Kenya Police FC as well as last season’s losing finalists Kakamega Homeboyz.

Former champions Sofapaka and Mathare United as well as Mara Sugar, Posta Rangers, FC Talanta and Nairobi City Stars have chosen not to register for this year’s competition.

Five teams from the National Super League will compete while the remaining 13 have chosen to pass. A total of 64 teams will compete.

The first round matches, the round of 64, is scheduled for the weekend of February 22-23. The round was initially to be played this weekend, but pushed to allow for the draw to be conducted.

The second round matches will be played on March 8-9 while the round of 16 will be on April 12-13, quarters on May 1-4, Semis on May 24-25 while the final has been earmarked for June 14.
