Tusker FC and Kenya Police FC will clash in an epic top of the table duel at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos Saturday evening, a match that will have huge bearing on the FKF Premier League title run in.

The two teams are tied on 37 points. Last weekend, the two sides each drew their matches to remain toe to toe. Police had to score a 93rd minute leveler to tie 1-1 with Sofapaka, while Tusker played to a 0-0 draw with KCB.

The brewers, who have been on a resurgence after a slow start to the season have only lost once this year, a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Shabana but have won against Gor Mahia and Ulinzi in subsequent fixtures before the draw against KCB.

Police on the other hand have been different breed since the arrival of Burundian coach Etienne Ndayiragije. The coach has only lost once in his tenure.

It will be an interesting fixture, pitting together the highest scoring team in the league (Tusker) and the most disciplined side defensively (Police). Tusker have scored 31 goals in 18 matches, while Police have only conceded 10 in the same frame.

Speaking ahead of the match, Tusker’s Charles Okere says he expects it tough.

“Of course this is a really tough match because we are both competing for the title and we know how big it is to win. But we are not going to let the pressure get into us. We will approach the game with calm heads and calm minds to ensure we give the best,” the coach said.

The first leg ended 1-1 in Nairobi, and Tusker are looking to go all out and earn all three, to open a buffer top of the log. Okere says the team has worked to strengthen areas of concern especially offensively, and will look to get some early goals.

While Tusker are battling for their title number 13, Police are seeking their first ever Premier League title, having won the FKF Cup last season.
