Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, FKF Premier League top scorer Ryan Wesley Ogam has been included in Tusker’s match day squad for Sunday’s duel against KCB in Machakos.

Ogam has been a hot target for Algerian top flight side USM Alger, with the club reportedly keen to trigger his buyout close and move him to Algiers, before their transfer window closes on Feb 5.

The player trained with Tusker Saturday morning and was named in the travelling squad to Machakos, even as the club grapples to wade off any distraction for their star forward.

Head coach Charles Okere, speaking in an interview with Telecomasia.net says they remain focused on their season targets to clinch the Premier League title.

“This is football and sometimes that happens during the transfer window. Of course, Ogam is an important player for us and we want to have our best players for the rest of the season. But some things you cannot prevent. For us, we have kept our focus because the team is always bigger than an individual. Our focus is on winning our matches and racing towards our target,” Okere said in the interview.

Ogam has scored a whooping 15 goals in 14 matches and is a centrepiece of Tusker’s attacking jigsaw. Losing the striker would be a huge blow for the Brewers, as they already lost their top assister Shaphan Siwa who moved to Tanzania’s Kagera Sugar.
