Namungo coach backs Kapaito to fire in Tanzania
Namungo SC head coach Juma Mgunda has backed Kenyan striker Eric Kapaito to turn up in style in the second half of the Tanzanian Premier League, despite struggling infront of goal since making his move to the league.
Kapaito moved to Tanzania’s Namungo from Kenyan Premier League side Tusker FC at the start of the season, but has struggled to find the same rhythm that saw him score 13 goals for the Brewers last term.
Mgunda, speaking to Telecomasia.net says the striker has been forced to battle through injury concerns, but is confident he will turn up well in the second leg.
“That is a great striker I have. It has been difficult for him because he was on and off with injury but at the moment, he is 100 percent fit. I have seen what he can do in training and the matches he has played in the league and I am more than confident that he will spur to success in the second leg. He is intelligent and quite good on the ball and I have so much confidence in him,” Mgunda said.
Kapaito played at Tusker for a season having returned home from a spell in Ethiopia. He also previously played for Kariobangi Sharks, where he was named the league’s most valuable player twice.
