The final round of FKF Premier League matches for this year are lined up this weekend, with teams looking to jostle up for favourable positions before what promises to be a grueling 2025.

Leaders KCB, second-placed Tusker FC and Police FC are all in action on Saturday. A win for KCB will practically see them remain top of the log, and the bankers, who host league newboys Mara Sugar in Murang’a, are keen to bounce back to winning ways.

KCB had started the season with so much fire, which has since fizzled out, and they have not won a single match in their last five outings.

They lost 2-0 to Shabana in their previous match last weekend, and are keen to bounce back and put their title hopes alive.

They come up against a Mara Sugar side that is also flailing, but last weekend bounced back to winning ways after four consecutive defeats.

Meanwhile, Tusker FC, who have had a renaissance of sorts, will be away to bottom side Posta Rangers in Machakos.

The mailmen have won only twice in 13 matches this season, and their last victory was a 3-1 success away to Bidco United in November.

Tusker on the other hand are in good form, with five wins from six matches. Last weekend, they beat Bidco United 2-1 to bounce back to winning ways.

Despite facing a bottom side, head coach Charles Okere has warned his players not to take anything for granted, but give their best.

“The worst thing you can ever do in football is to underrate an opponent. Posta might be bottom of the table, but they are a very difficult team to play against. It has always been tough between us and them and we need to be very cautious in our approach,” Okere said, speaking during the team’s pre-match press briefing.

Tusker will still be without defender Mike Kibwage and winger Naaman Balecho, both who are nursing injuries.

In the late kick off in Machakos, Police FC will be up against Kakamega Homeboyz. Police, under the tutelage of Burundian tactician Etienne Ndayiragije have not lost a single match since he took over, with a run of five wins.

Police will be hoping to skip top of the log with a win, if leaders KCB and Tusker don’t pick maximum points.

Police are only a point below them.
