KCB FC Head Coach Patrick ‘Luwowo’ Odhiambo is eager for his side to extend their winning streak as they prepare to face Ulinzi Stars this Sunday at the Police Sacco Stadium.

KCB have started the season brightly, winning two of their first three matches. In the opening weekend of the 2024/2025 Kenya Premier League, they shared the spoils with Kariobangi Sharks before defeating Murang’a SEAL 2-0 at home. Last weekend, KCB continued their impressive run with another 2-0 victory over Posta Rangers.

During a recent training session at the KCB Leadership Centre in Karen, Odhiambo noted: “Ulinzi are a strong opponent, so we expect a difficult game since they haven’t had the best start to the league. We are working on areas where we made mistakes in the last fixture. The boys are in high spirits – scoring goals brings a lot of confidence to the squad. They’re expressing themselves more in training, and I hope we can maintain this form.”

The tactician is expected to start Farouk Shikhalo between the sticks, Kevin Okumu, Haniff Wesonga, Lameck Oloo, and Herit Mungai in defence, with Dennis Maruti, Maurice Ojwang, and Farraj Ominde set to control the midfield. Joshua Nyatini, Francis Kahiro, and Patrick Odhiambo are also likely to feature in the attack for KCB.

“If we are to compete, we need to keep this momentum going. It’s critical for us to put in more effort. Our approach is to continue working hard to grab the maximum points. We respect every opponent and take it one game at a time – right now, our focus is on Ulinzi. Lameck Oloo has settled in well in defence, and he’s enjoying his game,” said goalkeeper Farouk Shikhalo.

Shikhalo has been a cornerstone of KCB’s early success, keeping a clean sheet in every match so far. His coach is confident the goalkeeper can maintain this impressive form as they push for more victories.
