Joseph Okumu Shines as Kenyan Internationals Make Their Mark Across Europe

Kenyan defender Joseph Okumu played the full 90 minutes for Stade Reims as they secured their first win of the 2024-25 Ligue 1 season, defeating Rennes 2-1 at the Stade Auguste-Delaune II. Okumu, 27, was solid at the back, helping Reims to a crucial victory. He is set to join the Harambee Stars squad in Uganda for the upcoming AFCON 2025 Qualifiers.

Meanwhile, in Germany, 25-year-old Linton Maina scored for FC Köln in their 3-1 victory over Schalke 04 at the Veltins Arena. Maina, who has represented Germany at the U19 and U20 levels, finished off a well-worked team move in first-half added time, rounding the goalkeeper to slot into an empty net.
