Coach Cheche Names Provisional Junior Starlets Roster for FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup

Junior Starlets head coach Mildred Cheche has named a provisional squad of 35 players as they prepare for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic, set to take place from October 16 to November 3, 2024.

The team will kick off their World Cup campaign with a match against England on October 18, 2024. They will then face Korea DPR on October 20, before concluding the group stage with a game against Mexico on October 24.

Players are expected to report to camp on Saturday, August 24, 2024, for 17 days of training. After this initial camp, the squad will travel to Spain on September 10 for further training before departing for the Dominican Republic on October 1, 2024.

This tournament marks the Junior Starlets’ debut on the global stage, making them the first Kenyan football team to compete at such a prestigious level in international competitions.
